Robyn “Bean” Collins Williford was born on March 23, 1978 to Hank and Joellen Williford. See attended East Carolina University and Auburn University-Montgomery, majoring in Graphic design.

Robyn was voted a team captain for the 2000-01 swim team season.

In the 1999-2000 season Robyn received Honorable Mention All-American in the 200 free relay (25.23 split) and 50 free (25.68).  She finished third in the 50 free at the SEC Championships with a career best time of 22.99.  She also competed in the consolation heat of the 100 free at the SECs with a 13th place overall finish.  She swam her personal best in the 100 free during prelims (50.94) and ranks third in the SEC and 15th in the country in the 50 free.  She was also named to SEC All-Academic team.

In the 1998-99 season Robyn earned All-America honors by swimming on the 200 free relay during prelims.  She also placed 47th in the 50 free (23.67) at the NCAA Championships.  She was eighth in the 50 free (23.20) and tenth in the 100 free (51.21) at the SEC Championships.  She also was a member of the second place 200 free relay (1:31.07).   She placed fourth in the 50 free (23.87), seventh in the 100 free (51.92) and was a member of the first place 200 free relay (1:32.72) during the dual meet with Stanford.

Robyn attended Catholic High School of Montgomery.  During senior year of high school (Oct. ’95)she was involved in a car accident but still swam during recovery  She is a member of National Honor Society, Student Government Association class representative, and voted most likely to go to Olympics.

Robyn swam for the Montgomery YMCA Barracudas and was coached by Chris Snyder. She has received the following awards:

Coach’s Award in 1994 & 1996
Perseverance Award in 1995-96 
YMCA All-American in 1994-95

Robyn plans to get married on May of 2001 and wants to get a job in a good design firm where she can move up.  She choose Auburn because it has a fast program and she knew she could improve.
